Did you know that Australians throw away nearly 2 million tonnes of packaging each year? That is nearly enough to fill the MCG nine times!

Packaging not only consumes considerable energy and resources, from production to disposal, but plastic packaging, which makes up most of all packaging, never actually decomposes. It is why more and more people today are becoming increasingly concerned about the impact of plastics on the environment, and the legacy (or even irreparable problem) we leave for the generations that follow.

It is also why a growing number of consumers are turning their attention to more eco-friendly solutions in their everyday lives.

At Peerless JAL, we too believe we have a socially and environmentally responsible obligation to explore greener practices, and understand the importance of reducing our own carbon footprint.

One way to do this is to adopt a more sustainable packaging program.

The lifecycle of traditional packaging includes a range of carbon-emitting stages, including the extraction of raw materials, production, transportation, usage, and ultimately disposal.

Alternatively, eco-friendly packaging uses highly recyclable materials and significantly reduces the total amount of carbons released throughout its lifecycle.

Earlier this year, Peerless JAL actioned its own green packaging program and this month will proudly introduce 750ml spray bottles made from 100% recycled materials.

It is just one of the many green initiatives we have adopted in recent times.

Last year our new manufacturing plant included the installation of solar-powered upgrades and state-of-the-art equipment, and advanced production efficiencies, all which will help to minimise our carbon footprint.

This year, Peerless JAL will continue to keep it clean … and green! Our new sustainable packaging will feature recycled waste material that is strong and lightweight, safe, shatterproof, and will not react with its contents.
